Re: About the Postgres Conferecne in China

------------------------------ Dear Alvaro, Thank you so much for agreeing to come to China for the conference - this is wonderful news and I truly appreciate your commitment. I have already reserved a speaking slot specifically for you, so please take your time to prepare and submit your talk proposal when convenient. You may also consider submitting multiple proposals so our team can have options to select from. I will be in China from June 22 to July 10, and I'd love to coordinate our schedules. Here's a preliminary itinerary we're considering: - June 27-28: Main conference in Jinan - June 29: City tour of Jinan - June 30: Meeting at Highgo office - Additional time: Business meetings with the Highgo team to discuss potential future collaborations *Please note *that you *don't need to book the high-speed train* from Beijing to Jinan - we will handle that for you. We will also take care of hotel arrangements in Jinan, so *no need to book accommodations* on your end. Just let us know if the schedule works for you. Please share your travel schedule and availability so we can finalize the detailed arrangements. We can discuss the specific agenda and logistics in the coming weeks. Looking forward to seeing you in Jinan! Best regards, Grant On Thu, Jun 5, 2025 at 5:09 AM Álvaro Hernández <aht@ongres.com> wrote:

Oh, I'm sorry about that! I thought it was June 10th, it's listed as such on the website: I'll do this tomorrow in my morning, so you can have it ASAP. Another thing, may I ask you for some recommendations for my trip? Here's where I'd value your opinion: - I'll land in PKX (Beijing Daxing International Airport right?) on the 25th at 3pm. I will need some rest after a long trip, so I'm thinking staying in Beijing (it's also my first time in China, so I'm good with this). From there I'll go to Beijing and stay there for one night. Any particular area would you recommend? Should I stay close to the train station to take the train next day to Jinan, or is not needed? - As for Jinan, I'll book the same hotel as the venue, but let me know if I should book something else. - Is there any plan at the conference on the 28th? I'm considering returning to Beijing either on this night or the 29th in the morning. My flight back is late in the evening on the 29th, so I'm unsure what would be the best plan. Also I'd like to have the chance to visit around Beijing, but realistically I don't have much time anyway for this. Any ideas are welcome :) Thank you for all your help. *Yes, PKX is Beijing Daxing International Airport - that's correct. The other major airport is PEK (Beijing Capital International Airport), and both work well for getting into the city. You can stay close to the train station (Beijing South Railway Station South Square) if it helps with taking the train.* *For your Beijing stay on June 26, I'd suggest considering an all-inclusive day tour that covers Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Mutianyu Great Wall. This would give you a great overview of Beijing's highlights, though it will require advance booking. I can look into arranging this for you, then you can take the high-speed train to Jinan afterward. We can discuss the arrangement details later.*

Thank you very much. I already booked a hotel for this night. The tour you mention sounds really interesting, but I'm afraid I'll need some time for catching up with work and relaxing a bit. We can plan to take the train in the afternoon to go to Jinan.
- As for Jinan, I'll book the same hotel as the venue, but let me know if I should book something else.
*you don't need to book the hotels in Jinan, we will help to book and just let us know the days you will stay.*
Thank you! According to the information below, I'd stay for the City tour of Jinan. So my hotel needs would be for the days 26th-29th. On the 29th I'd need to take the train back to Beijing, and from there to PKX airport. My flight is around 2am on the 30th (on that night, but late) and while I'd like to plan with enough time to make it comfortably, I guess I should have time enough to participate in the city tour.
- Is there any plan at the conference on the 28th? I'm considering returning to Beijing either on this night or the 29th in the morning. My flight back is late in the evening on the 29th, so I'm unsure what would be the best plan. We'll also have arrangements for Jinan tours on the 29th, so you might consider leaving on the 29th evening.*

* *June 27-28: Main conference in Jinan* * *June 29: City tour of Jinan* * *June 30: Meeting at Highgo office* * *Additional time: Business meetings with the Highgo team to discuss potential future collaborations*
**I'm afraid I cannot stay for the 30th. But I hope we can plan some meeting during the conference or on the 29th so we can discuss collaborations between Highgo and OnGres. Best, Álvaro
