Hi Grant,
It's been my 4th year living here in Seoul on a Resident Visa but I do not possess a Korean passport yet. I will apply for a visa on a Pakistani passport. I read on the Visa website that I took 3, 4 working days to process Visa applications and there are direct ~2 hours flights to Jinah from Seoul.
If you are aware of any concerns that It can take longer than I can do remote too. Personally I would prefer to travel there. (I sent you a message on Discord, If possible it would be quick chat to understand the situation)
Regards Umar Hayat

Hi Umar,
What a surprise to learn you're in Seoul! Do you have Korean citizenship? It's really convenient to fly from Seoul to China - we're such close neighbors.
You're absolutely welcome to attend on-site if you'd prefer. I was initially concerned about the time constraints for visa applications, but if you hold a South Korean passport, you can enter China visa-free for up to 15 days for business, tourism, visiting family and friends, or transit purposes.
Please let me know if you have any visa concerns or other questions.
All the best,
Grant

Hi Grant, Thanks for the response. Though my presentation is about Graph DB, I wanted to be involved in in-person discussions about IvorySQL development, as I have been working with IvorySQL for quite some time now. Seems I have to be engaged virtually then :-)
Having said that, I am available for remote participation. Let me know further details and schedule and I will prepare content accordingly. I live in Seoul, so there is not much of a time difference, I will be attending the conference via Zoom.
Regards, Umar Hayat

Dear Umar,
As we finalize arrangements for the HOW2025 PostgreSQL and IvorySQL conference, I wanted to reach out regarding your participation given the tight schedule we're working with.
Would you be open to participating remotely this time? This would allow us to arrange your talk sessions more efficiently and move forward with the scheduling process promptly.
If you're agreeable to remote participation, here's how it would work:
Please record a high-definition video of your presentation and send it to us in advance We'll play your recorded presentation during your scheduled time slot at the conference You can optionally join us remotely via Zoom or VooV at the end of your session for a live Q&A with attendees
This approach would help us finalize the conference program and ensure your valuable contribution is included without the complexities of travel arrangements on short notice.
Please let me know your thoughts on this arrangement so we can proceed with the talk scheduling and follow-up accordingly.
Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Grant
